Driver Recruitment Administrator
About the Role
The Driver Recruitment and Retention Officer plays a vital role in attracting, hiring, and retaining qualified drivers to support the organization’s operational needs. This role involves developing and executing targeted recruitment strategies through various channels, including job boards, social media, career fairs, and partnerships with driving schools. The officer is responsible for screening and interviewing candidates, ensuring they meet all legal and company requirements, such as valid licenses, clean driving records, and compliance with safety regulations. Coordinating comprehensive onboarding processes, including orientation sessions and safety training, is essential to integrating new drivers effectively. Additionally, the role focuses on designing and implementing retention programs that enhance driver satisfaction, such as reward systems, recognition initiatives, and professional development opportunities. Monitoring driver performance and providing constructive feedback help maintain high standards and address any performance issues. The officer also conducts exit interviews to gather insights and develop strategies for reducing turnover. Acting as a liaison between drivers and management, the role fosters open communication and a positive work environment to boost engagement and morale.

Main Accountabilities
Develop Recruitment Strategies – Design and implement targeted recruitment campaigns to attract qualified drivers through various channels such as job boards, social media, career fairs, and partnerships with driving schools.
Screen and Interview Candidates – Review applications, conduct interviews, and assess candidates’ qualifications, licenses, and driving records to ensure compliance with company and legal requirements.
Coordinate Onboarding Processes – Manage the onboarding of new drivers by organizing orientation sessions, safety training, and introducing company policies and procedures.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance – Verify that all drivers meet legal and safety standards, including background checks, drug testing, and maintaining up-to-date licenses and certifications.
Promote Driver Retention Programs – Develop and implement initiatives to improve driver satisfaction and retention, such as reward programs, recognition events, and career development opportunities.
Monitor Driver Performance – Track driver performance metrics (e.g., safety records, punctuality, and customer feedback) and provide feedback or support for improvement when needed.
Conduct Exit Interviews – Analyse feedback from departing drivers to identify trends and develop strategies to improve retention rates.
Foster a Positive Work Environment – Act as a liaison between drivers and management, addressing concerns and fostering open communication to improve engagement and morale.
Analyse Workforce Data – Use data and analytics to identify recruitment gaps, turnover trends, and retention challenges, adjusting strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams – Work closely with operations, HR, and safety teams to align recruitment and retention strategies with overall business objectives.
